About
Having started painting in her early 20s, Laura Schoditsch is an autodidact.
Both, the artistic journey she has travelled so far and her current (and presumably future) one are cyclical in nature:
Searching, finding, loving deeply, discarding, searching again.
Laura Schoditsch is currently engaging in her artistic practice with the most existential questions about art. What is art? What is the essence of painting? Where does its true nature lie? How do I paint in a way that makes the essence of art tangible? What makes good painting good? At what point does thinking and speaking about painting fail? What is it? What is it about?
In this exciting and inexhaustible pursuit, one thing becomes increasingly clear: it is the constant search, the never arriving, in which both the magic and the torment reside.
